Cheap but good treadmills

I want to buy a treadmill.

I want something that works well and lets me adjust the elevation. A folding treadmill for easier storage would be a plus, too.

I just want something that won’t break the bank.

Anyone have any good suggestions?

You can try 2.5HP Smart Compact Walking pad Treadmill . It is foldable. It isn't pricey. It is one popular home treadmill I'm currently seeing around here because it's cheap, small, and uses low light. Foldable - You can fold and slide under your bed or sofa after workout. You should check it out.

The one I have isn’t exactly cheap, but it isn’t very expensive either—let’s call it an affordable, middle-of-the-road option. I can tell you from experience—having tried a cheaper treadmill—that with a low-end model, your feet start to hurt while you’re running. You can actually feel that it isn’t really designed to handle the impact of running; you can sense the entire mechanical system rotating underneath your feet. In contrast, the higher the quality of the treadmill, the better it feels when you run on it.

Is it just for walking?

I’d want something durable enough for me to run on.

I’m also 6’5”, so I’d need the pad long enough where it wouldn’t be too sketchy for you as I take a big stride at times.

Well, you can do it on a treadmill, that's why it's called a treadmill. I've run on a treadmill hundreds of times. Depending on the quality of the belt, it might be more or less comfortable, but it's perfectly possible. The name itself tells you that: 'treadmill for running'.

I’d look for a folding treadmill with adjustable incline, a sturdy frame, and a good warranty. The XTERRA TR150 is worth checking out, but remember its incline is manual.

Sure, that’s not a bad idea, but you don’t really need something that specific—you can do quite a lot with regular tape. That said, in an ideal scenario, the type of tape you’re suggesting would work perfectly for this purpose; the only issue is that I’m not sure everyone would have the financial means to buy it.
