Some trail runners are all about candy as a source of energy for a run.

Are you one of them?

If yes, what candy are you taking with you on your runs?

No I don't do candy bar as I'm trying to lose weight. Foods high in free sugar like candy or chocolate bars, are high in energy (calories), but these are “empty nutrients. So it might give you the energy to run but it sabotage ones health. Candy bars are also high in calories and low in nutrients

Yes, I generally carry energy bars; I love them. Besides making my stomach feel somewhat full, they provide all the energy I need—unlike gummies or candies, which might do the same in terms of energy but don’t provide that feeling of fullness. That’s important for me, because if I feel like my stomach is empty or I’m hungry, it really drains my energy. So, along with the occasional gummy or candy, I usually carry energy bars.

I have never internationally used candy before, though there are times when I have had cups of something sweet before my run, and honestly it does help, especially for mourning runs.

You should—I recommend energy bars. You get a twofold benefit: first, your stomach will feel a bit fuller, as if you’ve actually eaten something; and second, you’ll feel the energy boost the bar provides. I think they’re much better than any energy gummies or candies.

Maybe i will try this, i have also heard people talk about energy bars as well too, they claim it's also pretty effective.

For me energy bar isn't healthy for me. There's too many calories even the healthiest bars can pack in a lot of calories. There's too much hidden sugars and artificial sweeteners in energy Bars, too much sugar or poor sugar sources, unhealthy fats and some have misleading claims
